Dana (b. 1999, Germany) is a visual artist based in Barcelona. She moved to the city at the age of 19, where she later completed her degree in Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona.

Working between figuration and abstraction, Dana’s paintings explore the space where recognizable forms, bodily impressions, and intuitive gestures begin to merge. Her layered compositions unfold through shifting shapes, rhythmic lines, and saturated fields of color, creating images that feel simultaneously familiar and elusive.

Rooted in an exploration of perception and visual memory, her work translates lived experience into evolving compositions where recognizable elements are fragmented, reassembled, and transformed through layers of color, movement, and gesture.

Her process is deeply physical and intuitive, built through accumulation, revision, and response. Working directly on the canvas, she develops each painting through a continuous dialogue between control and spontaneity, allowing forms to emerge, shift, and dissolve over time. The surface becomes a site of negotiation, where clarity and ambiguity remain in constant tension.
